The School of the Moon’s Shadow

We don’t follow a single tradition—we seek to deconstruct Japanese swordwork and uncover what truly works, and what does not. Tsuki no Kage Ryū is a peaceful school. We never strike first. To attack is to expose oneself to defeat.

Our instructor earned his Shodan in Aikido in 1999 under Ishikawa Sensei of Misasagikai in Osaka, Japan. He has studied both Iwama-style and Nishio-style weapons, but represents neither school formally. At present, we are an independent dojo, actively seeking the right federation to join.

We train at Willowbranch Park in Riverside.
Classes are held at 1:00 PM. Meet at the parking lot on Sydney Street, next to the baseball field.

We are currently looking for a dojo space.
